OTYC Survey Results
Thanks to everyone who participated in the OTYC survey. We had 73 participants, and as you can see in the attached graphs (click here), overall the membership is happy with the state of the club. The overall satisfaction rating was 4.19 out of 5 stars, which is wonderful with a little room for improvement. The results and specific suggestions will definitely help the board and committee chairs prepare for the Summer of 2019!
Here are a few highlights we learned from the charts and the comments:
It’s all about Friendship! Members love seeing and spending time with friends and family at OTYC.
Members would like to see more consistency with the food at Potluck and Catered Dinners including; labeling ingredients for allergies or dietary preferences, better bar snacks & desserts, possible themed Potlucks and using Peggy on a more regular basis.
We love Toddy Time and want to keep it casual.
The members who attend the Annual Events enjoy them! (many members shared they are not in town for these events or prefer to spend holidays with family/friends). One repeated suggestion was that these are big events to host, so compiling the requirements/notes from past years would be very helpful.
With regards to new events, the membership was most interested in a Food Truck evening and an Interlochen program.
The membership supports the OTYC Youth Camp and would like to see more sailing races.
Some suggestions to improve OTYC include; update bathrooms, have a 5 year rolling capital plan, use the patio/grounds more at Potluck and Catered Dinners, keep focus on family events, and have volunteer and a new member handbook available on the website.
The OTYC Board appreciates all the feedback and thanks everyone for their time and thoughtful comments.
